Munjarra Ski Club – Code of Conduct
Purpose and Values
Munjarra Ski Club is a cooperative community of members who share a passion for snow sports, friendship, and mountain life. This Code of Conduct ensures that all members and guests can enjoy a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment at our lodges in Thredbo and Perisher.
We value:
Respect – for people, property, and the alpine environment
Responsibility – for conduct, safety, and the care of our lodges
Community – cooperation, inclusion, and goodwill among members
Enjoyment – fostering a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for everyone.
Scope
This Code applies to all members, guests, directors, and staff of Munjarra Ski Club while staying in, visiting, or representing the Club. Failure to comply may result in warnings, suspension, or loss of accommodation privileges.
Respectful Behaviour
Treat all members, guests, and staff with courtesy and respect. Offensive, aggressive, or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated. Alcohol consumption must be moderate and responsible. Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside any lodge buildings.
Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are aware of and comply with this Code.
Families and Children
Munjarra is a family-oriented club, and children are always welcome. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
Children must not:
Run or play noisily in hallways or stairwells
Play ball games inside the lodge
Use the lounge, television, or music equipment in a way that disturbs others
Use the spa or sauna unsupervised
Noise and Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Please be considerate of others, especially late at night and early in the morning.
Lodge Care and Property
Our lodges are member-owned facilities maintained for the enjoyment of all. Please:
Keep your room and shared areas clean and tidy
Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly
Use kitchens, bathrooms, and storage spaces considerately
Treat all club property with care Members are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their children, or their guests. The Club reserves the right to recover costs for repair or replacement.
Lodge Management and Authority
Thredbo Lodge Munjarra employs a full-time, year-round Lodge Manager at Thredbo. The Manager is responsible for daily operations, safety, maintenance, and ensuring the Code of Conduct is observed. Members and guests must cooperate with all reasonable directions from the Manager.
Perisher Lodge There is no resident Lodge Manager at Perisher. Members and guests are expected to self-manage responsibly in accordance with this Code. If issues arise, please contact the Lodge Officer listed on the lodge noticeboard.
At both lodges, the Manager (Thredbo) or Lodge Officer (Perisher) has authority to take reasonable action to address unsafe or inappropriate behaviour, including requesting that individuals modify their conduct or leave the lodge.
Safety and Liability
Members and guests use Munjarra facilities at their own risk. The Club accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to personal property. All members and guests are expected to act responsibly to maintain a safe environment.
Incident Reporting and Resolution
If you experience or witness a breach of this Code:
At Thredbo – report the matter to the Lodge Manager.
At Perisher – contact the Lodge Officer (details displayed at the lodge).
If the issue cannot be resolved, it may be referred to the Chairperson or a Director of the Board.
All incidents will be documented and reviewed by the Board. Those who report issues will be informed of the outcome where appropriate.
Breaches of the Code
The Club may take disciplinary action, including:
Verbal or written warnings
Suspension of booking privileges
Termination of membership in serious or repeated cases
Review
The Board will review this Code periodically to ensure it remains consistent with Munjarra’s values, policies, and obligations.
